Entrance Hall The Entrance Hall has large double oak doors that students walk through to enter Hogwarts. Four giant hourglasses - one for each House - stand in niches in a corner opposite the main doors. Each hourglass is filled with gemstones rather than sand, one gemstone in the lower bulb for each House Point currently held by that House. Gryffindor's contains rubies, Ravenclaw's sapphires, Slytherin's emeralds, and Hufflepuff's topaz.

Great Hall When you first walk into the Great Hall you will notice the ceiling looks like the sky. The ceiling is bewitched to look like the sky and thousands of candles levitate just below the ceiling illuminating the entire room. Four long tables are placed in the great hall, each table for each house. The teachers sit at the high table at the front. This table is on a raised platform. The Sorting Ceremony is also held in the Great Hall.
