When Liam first received his letter he was amazed. He was magical. His grandmother told him stories of wizards and he could never dream he was ever one.
This is just amazing.
When he walked into the doors he saw it, the hour glasses filled with gems. He was mesmerized by the beauty of the gems and how no one dared to touch it. He was drawn to them. He gripped his wand. His wand is 11 1/4 inch with a kelpie hair for a core. The wand was slightly curved a bit, yet he could not be amazed by the power. He was soo eager to try and test magic. Then a small explosion took place in front of him.
Great, I am a freak here too.
"Sorry 'bout that," Liam said a bit nervously.

Myra was still having a hard time grasping the fact that she was a witch. Well, a half-blood witch, but magical none the less. She wandered the halls of the great school rather aimlessly, unsure of where to go. She tugged uncomfortably at her skirt. She had never worn skirts back home, always pants. However, this was her uniform, so she wore it. Her loose braid hung down her back, and she attempted to adjust her tie. These clothes were so uncomfortable. She held her little wand tucked at her side, not ready to attempt her magic. She didn't want to mess up already. But it was sooo tempting. She strolled into a hall with gem-filled hourglasses. She stared awestruck as a few students buzzed past her, not daring to touch the time-keepers. Suddenly, a small explosion made Myra reach out to steady herself. She turned to see an embarassed looking boy apologizing. Waving her hand to clear some of the smoke, she walked over to him. "It's alright," she said gently. She held out her hand to him. "I'm Myra. Erm, Hufflepuff." She blushed a bit, but wasn't quite sure why.

Liam smiled a bit and then put his wand away, he should learn how to properly use this thing before he causes the entire castle to blow up.
I may actually get friends.
Liam looked at the girl and was drawn in by her charming good looks. He felt like her eyes were a crystal clear pool of water. Her golden hair streamed down her neck. Then he adjusted his gaze, he did not want to look like a fool.
Don't act so weird!
"Hi," Liam muttered, "I am Liam, Hufflepuff."

Pulling her hand away, instead of standing there with her hand extended awkwardly, she gave a small smile. "Neat! We're in the same House!" Biting her lip, she scuffed the toe of her shoe on the floor. She thought back to the small explosion. "So, uh.. What were you trying to do with your wand?" she asked, attempting to keep the conversation going. She thought maybe the two of them could be friends. Then she reminded herself to be careful. She didn't want to be used again. She stood up a little straighter and tried to fix her tie again. Failing miserably, she tugged it off and tied it around her waist like a belt. "Much better," she mumbled to herself. Dusting off her skirt, she looked back up at Liam. "You are a first year, right?" she asked. She hoped he was. Otherwise, she would feel pretty dumb. And that was not a pleasant feeling.

Liam could not help but to smile. He found it almost cute how Myra made things into her own style.
Am I actually making a friend?!?
"Yes I am a first year, and I did not mean to cause an explosion. I guess I am not in complete control of my wizarding powers," Liam smiled and then remembered something he heard on the train. "I saw with some second years and they told me a spell, they were really nice I am curious what the spell does exactly.
Liam took out his wand and stated the spell loudly and clearly, "Peskipiksi Pesternomi."
The spell did not work, he expected something, yet nothing happened.
Can i actually perform spells?
Then Liam remembered the explosion, he can do magic. He frowned, the second years tricked him.
