~~Adalia Dore Edevane
Adalia sat on the higher part of one of the very last bookshelves. Most of them we're about twenty feet tall, a ladder was provided at the second platform, which is teen feet from the floor. The platform extends four feet from each bookshelf, that all expand to be about fifty feet in length. She was immediately sorted into the Ravenclaw house, and given an explanation about what it was, but she soon forgot. She was also told what time to be in bed by, but forgot that too. She'd ask someone later.
She decided to explore the place, sure that there'd be a library at the school. Adalia was not disappointed when she found it. It was huge, full of books, and soon she felt soothed. She remembered how her friends would call her a "Bookworm" "Book Hugger" and smiled, but was soon replaced with a frown. Her friends were muggers or so her mom said.
Adalia had then walked towards the last bookshelf, and trying to be as unnoticed as possible, climbed the ladder, and pushed it towards one side, the small wheels attacked to the bottom of the ladder and the ones on the rail squeaking as they rolled away. She heaved a sigh and sat down. She pulled her knees to her and tried not to cry. How had she gone from being a regular, well, as regular as you could get, eleven-year old girl to a witch. A Witch. That wasn't even right! A witch was always the bad guy...er girl! She was the only who kept Snow White, Aurora from Sleeping Beauty, Ariel from The Little Mermaid from living happily ever after. She knew it was all fictional, but now she has to live with the fact that it really isn't, at least the magical part.
Adalia wouldn't have really minded being, what was it her mother called it. A half-blood, she wouldn't mind. She thought it was sort of cool, but having to leave her family? Go off to some school in Scotland? Across the Atlantic Ocean? Well, it was too much to handle. She had never been allowed to go sleep over at a friends house, but now there she was, hundreds of miles away from home. She cried as softly as she could, she was homesick and was starting to get hungry, but was a little afraid to ask where she could find something to eat.
Trying to calm down, she pulled a book out from she shelf behind her, and read the title to herself. "The Lady of Shalott By Alfred Lord Tennyson." She knew this story, she'd read it before, and was a little amused at how much she could relate with the Lady of Shalott, even though Adalia was the witch. Closing the book and putting it down, she pushed it with a little too much force, causing it to skid to the railing and fall to the floor. Thud. Adalia covered her mouth, giggled, but then looked to the sides. So much for being as unnoticeable as possible, she thought to herself.

[shadow=red,left,300]Alexander Penvarden[/shadow] Alex walked through the aisles of books, relieved to have ditched his fellow house members. Those two boys had been unbelievably infuriating, and he hated to say it, but extremely dumb. They were the type of people that made people have a bad perception of Slytherins. He glanced around at the books, not seeing the one he wanted. He recognized some muggle books, but nothing of value. He wasn't himself fond of books, he never had the ability to sit through and read them. He blamed his affliction for that. "Where are you, book? I don't have all day..." he muttered, looking at the uppermost shelves. He heard some scuffling, but ignored it. Then a book landed on his head, and he had to repress a shout of shock. 'The heck?' he thought, glancing up. He saw a girl giggling and glared at her, still rubbing his head. He didn't say anything, but he noticed that the book he was looking for was right on the shelf she was sitting on. He'd have to get a ladder to reach it, and that made him annoyed. So far he found his day slightly getting more and more duller, and he felt the familiar prickle on his wrists. He waited for the girl to pay attention, then pointed at the shelf, hoping she'd understand what book he wanted.

Adalia Dore Edevane Adalia looked down and saw a boy standing there. Hispanic, she instantly thought at the sight of his skin complexion, when she noticed his glare. Feeling a blushing coming on, she called out, her voice cracking a bit. “Sorry about that!”She couldn't have been there for more than two hours, three at most, and already she was up to a bad start. She'd knew that it would all be a disaster, coming to this school. Looking back down at the boy that was ten feet below her. At first she Adalia thought he was pointing at her but soon realized that it was her he was referring to, it was at something next to her. A book. He wanted him to get the book for him. She considered telling him to get it himself, but after dropping a book on his head, she decided she owed him at least that “Which one?” Adalia whispered down, hoping she wouldn't call the librarians, or anybody else's attention.

Alexander Penvarden
Alex hesitated, then called out just as quietly. "The red one, with the white spine. The one with the title 'Flying and aerodynamics.'" He pointed to it, then added a quick thanks. He fidgeted, feeling like he was being stared at, even though he knew he wasn't. He really wanted the book for his latest project; so far he had it practically completely finished, but there was one thing he just couldn't figure out. How to keep it in the air. He looked back up to the girl and noted that she was a Ravenclaw, which was a pretty good house. He bit his lip and smiled when the girl went to grab it for him, still feeling the sore spot on his head. He grabbed the book from the floor and looked at it's title. He glanced at her with a quixotically look. He wanted to ask but he felt his usual wariness from people keeping him at bay. Had she been reading this, or just accidentally knocked it down?

~~Adalia Dore Edevane "The red one, with the white spine. The one with the title 'Flying and aerodynamics,'" said the boy. With push of her hands, Adalia got up to her feet, a little wobbly, and once she recovered he balance, she instantly started looking for the book. All of the books we're different, none of them seem to be the same. Some had leather covers, others we're paperbacks. There we're black covers, green covers, grey covers, everything, which she honestly found a little odd, especially to find some very old, worn looking books next to Times Best Selling books.
When she'd found the book he'd asked for, Adalia turned around, and held it up high over her head. In a loud whisper exclaimed, "I have found what was once lost!" She walked the few steps to the railing, crouched down, and slid her right hand under the railing with the book, trying to get it as close to the boy as possible. Trying to spare it from the last book's fate, she noticed the boy giving her a funny sort of look, and right before letting got of the book, Adalia asked suspiciously, "Is something wrong with my face?"

(I'm not sure we can continue this thread when Alex is a second year ._. But anyways, until someone yells at me.) Alexander Penvarden The girl was anything but graceful, but Alex had to find himself amused at her display of balance. She seemed to be having trouble finding the book, and was scanning the other useless titles. The school library was, in Alex's opinions, a bit unorganized. He wouldn't dare proclaim his opinion out loud, though, for fear that the strict librarian might hear. Finally the girl found his book, and turning around, exclaimed loudly, "I have found what was once lost!" Alex bit his lip to keep from laughing. The book hadn't actually been lost, just hard to find. He kept this thought to himself, though. He was still looking at her, a fact that seemed to slip his mind, for he jumped when she asked if something was on her face. she then dropped the book and Alex had to reach up quickly to save it from hitting his head. "N-No.," he coughed, stepping back. "I was just wondering..." he mumbled, then looked back at her and held up the book she had dropped previously. "Had you been reading this, or did you just accidentally knock it over?"

~~Adalia Dore Edevane Adalia looked at the boy and said,“Um, yeah, I had been. Sorry for dropping it on your head. That was an accident. Honest,"Adalia apologized. She walked to the ladder and started climbing down. When she was in front of the boy she said,“I'm Adalia by the way.” Adalia extended her hand, guessing she couldn't possibly make things worse.
Adalia decided that the boy was her age, maybe in his first year too? [OOC: Well, as you now know, we're all still in the 1st year. No growing up for another year. So if you want to continue the thread...]

(OOC: Oh no, disregard previous OOC comment ^-^ I was just confused. Lets do this!! ) Alexander Penvarden Alex shrugged, trying to suppress his awkwardness. "Don't worry about it.." he mumbled, keeping his eyes lowered as she went down the ladder. When she stuck her hand out, he hesitantly reached out and shook it, smiling slightly. "Nice to meet you. I'm Alex." He dropped her hand, glad to have his long shirt sleeves to make him feel secure. He hadn't been here long, but he felt awkward at this school still. There was always something people found to criticize him for. His skin sometimes played a part in the looks, but he found it was mainly his hobbies, his attention span...even his house he'd been sorted in. He tried not to hold it to them too much, and give people the time to show their true personalities beyond the childish gossip and wonder, but it was getting hard.

~~Adalia Dore Edevane Adalia notice Alex lower his eyes from her.How odd. “Well, it's nice too meet you Alex, though you had to get hit on the head.”Adalia said. She wiped her eyes, hoping that Alex didn't notice, and if he did, well, maybe her eyes would be red anymore from crying.“This is my first year here. Are you new too?”she asked. Adalia was suppose to have started middle school that year, finally out of elementary school. Instead she'd been sent to this school. She felt a pang of betrayal that her parents had given her up so easily, but reminded herself that there hadn't been anything they could have done. Adalia also knew that if she was going to bear living at this strange place, it would be best to make friends, though at the same time she felt that if she did eventually she would be okay with staying at the place. But then again, maybe it was for the best.

Alexander Penvarden Alex noticed she'd seemed to have been crying before their encounter and wondered why. "Nice to meet you too. So am I." He chuckled, rubbing the spot where he had been hit. He nodded, then realized he seemed to be too quiet, so he cleared his throat slightly, and nodded again, adding a small, "yeah." He looked around briefly, then continued. "I got sorted to Slytherin....obviously." he added, motioning to his robes. "So, uh, what about you? Where are you from, if you don't mind my asking?" Alex was talking way more than he was used to, but he felt suddenly giddy and wanted to keep the conversation going. He was getting slightly dizzy, and his focus was getting harder to keep. He rubbed his nose, then looked back at Adalia. "Sorry. That was weird. I suddenly got a dizzy spell. (OOC: Maybe I should have him have a vision/prophesy now? )

~~Adalia Dore Edevane Adalia's frown didn't last too long. Alex had gotten this weird, glazzy look in his eyes, but it quickly passed away. Adalia giggled. "Well to answer your first question, I'm from Cambridge. What about you?” Adalia stared at Alex and noticed that he seemed happy, looser and more relaxed that he had been. The tension had gone away! Adalia felt happy. She felt excited. Maybe she could get him to be her friend! “Wait, a dizzy spell?”Adalia was a little worried. Weren't they suppose to not do magic without supervision?[OOC: YES!!! VISION!!!! =D]

Alex Penvarden "Edinburgh," he answered, noticing her sudden shift in mood from a sort of angst to happiness. He smiled at this, then tried not to chuckle from her confusion. "Yeah, a dizzy spell." He inhaled sharply, another weird pain hitting his temple, before it passed. "Like, um, vertigo. I got dizzy." He rubbed his neck, trying to figure out what was going on. At first he figured it was probably just his attention span wanting to be annoying again, but that wasn't right. He was feeling slightly nauseous, sick even, and didn't know why. He tried to play it off though, not wanting to worry Adalia. (OOC: Ok, but what shall it be on? xD I mean, I have one idea where it could relate to his cousin, but I don't know how that would affect Adalia really. Grr. I don't know what to do it on >_<)

~~Adalia Dore Edevane Adalia could tell that Alex was starting to look pale, and seemed a little wobbly even though he tried to hide it. She wasn't sure whether to point out that she had noticed, or continue trying not to make her noticing too obvious. “Um, Alex? Why don't you sit down or something?”Adalia didn't have the slightest idea on what to do if he we're to collapse. She'd probably give a little panicked scream, and with her luck, she most likely would instead of helping. Adalia still wasn't 100% sure of all the rules they had to follow, so she wasn't sure if casting spells was going against the rules or not. “Maybe I should get someone to see you...” She said a little wary. [OOC: Um, I don't know. Maybe about him meeting Milly and Lizzie? How deep are his visions?]
