Description:
Beth has light brown, curly hair that reaches her shoulders. Even though her hair is light brown, it has many different shades depending on the kind of light she is in. Most of the time she leaves her hair naturally curly and very rarely does she tie her hair up; but when she does, she has it in a high ponytail with her side fringe clipped to the side. Beth has hazel eyes with flecks of green in them. Her eyes are the one feature that give away how she truly feels. This is because she is very good at hiding her expression from people, but if someone takes the time to know her they will realise that her eyes are the one place in which they will find out how she is feeling.Personality:
Beth is of an average height, but she has a good figure. She is not too skinny, but just right and she would hate to be any other way; even though she still has major self confidence problems. The one thing she hates about herself is her knees. She has had problems with her knees ever since the car crash she was involved in. This problem causes her knees to ache most of the time, even when she has done next to nothing, but she has still managed to overcome the pain barrier and now gets on with life.
Beth has two horizontal scars on the inside of her left arm, once again from the car crash she was involved in. Due to this she tends to walk and sit with her arms crossed around her middle, or she holds her left arm with her right hand. Beth also tends to wear dark colours as she doesn't like standing out in a crowd, so colours like navy and black are the things she likes. In addition, she is known for wearing a leather band around her right wrist that has a major significance to her and no one else, and without it she feels out of sorts.
Beth is a very shy person and likes to keep to herself. However, when the time arises she will talk to a crowd and she will answer when spoken to, but if she can help it she will avoid these things. Gryffindor will challenge this side of her because she doesn't have much nerve to take herself out of her comfort zone and she is far from daring. This house will be able to bring this side of her out and when that happens, people will realise that Beth is a loyal, kind friend and someone who is able to have a laugh. In addition, this will benefit Beth greatly by allowing her to be able to feel confident in herself and to get to know people, as she will have the confidence to speak.History:
Beth is someone that once you get to know them you will be very glad you did. She is a kind and loyal friend to anyone that is willing to put the effort in to get her to open up. Anyone who is willing to do that will not be disappointed with the friend they end up with. Beth is a very brave girl, who puts her life second to others when the need is there to. She will fit well into Gryffindor mainly due to the fact that she was involved in a car crash with her younger brother and her mum. In that accident she tried to save her younger brother, knowing that her own life was in danger.
Beth cares greatly about others safety and how they are feeling. Once you get to know her you will always have a friend that will be there to listen to you and to make you feel better. She tries her best at making friendships work and when something goes wrong she over-thinks the situation greatly; which is not good news for her. When ever something goes even slightly astray she will blame herself, even if she knows that it as someone else that caused it. She will find a way to make it her fault, because she doesn't like blaming people and making them feel bad.
Beth lives with her dad, Luke, and they live a comfortable life due to her dad working in the Ministry, in the Department of Justice. Her dad attended Hogwarts and was always top of the class. He wants Beth to be more like him, but she isn't. Her dad was never shy or laid back, he was bold and daring. Beth used to live a happy, normal life, with her mum, Alison and her younger brother, James. Due to the car crash they were involved in, both of them died.Acceptance Letter: IMPERIO ate it
The day of the accident was one of the worst days in Beth's life. It was a year ago and she was 10 years old and her brother was 8 years old. Her mum had come to pick her and James up from their muggle school, Fairways and it had started to snow heavily. They lived quite a long way from the school and because they were so young they weren't allowed to take public transport home and the distance was too far for them to walk.
On the way home, James was sitting behind the drivers seat and she was on the left side of the car. Everything was going well until a car in front of them lost control and went skidding. Beth's mum couldn't stop the car in time before she in turn lost control of the car. Their car went head first into the car that had originally lost control and skidded sideways. They were all okay, if a little shaken, but not for long. A car behind them ploughed straight into the side of them. Beth screamed out as it hit the side of the car her mum and James were on and she panicked, but managed to calm down enough to think straight. Beth managed to pull her brother free from the car onto the ground outside, but as she was going back to pull her mum free someone restrained her, and the stranger went in to free her mum instead. The ambulances arrived and they were all rushed to hospital.
Her mum died on the way to the hospital and her brother died in the intensive care unit. Both of them had severe injuries and had no chance of living, even though Beth had tried to save both of them from the wreckage. Beth was treated for cuts along her left arm from dragging her brother to safety and damaged knees from the impacts on the car. Ever since that day she was been mentally and physically scarred from the accident, and her dad gave her no consolation. He blamed her for the whole accident because she was the one that lived and not the woman he loved or the son he adored, and he still blames her up until this day.
A year later, when her acceptance letter arrived her dad was overjoyed that Beth would be out of the house and he wouldn't have to look after her any longer. However, there was a dark side to his happiness. It would mean that he could start his life over again. He would be rid of the child he despised. However, Beth was overjoyed too. She would be going to the school that both her parents had attended and a school were she could get away from the horrors that she faced at home. She wouldn't have to deal with the constant beatings or abuse from her father. She would be free.
