Alex is a medium sized boy, with curly dark brown hair that only goes a little past the nape of his neck. His eyes match those of his muggle grandfather, something he finds he both likes and dislikes. They tend to change colors between a hazel brown and a light green, and are usually under the protection of some rectangular black glasses.Personality:
He has a light brown skin color, showing his Puerto Rican roots, and he has a series of freckle like marks on his shoulders. His arms bear marks that he'd rather not think about, but they're very noticeable. He hides this by usually wearing long sleeved shirts or wristbands.
He still has a bit of a round shape to his face from childhood,and usually appears younger than he really is. This is common in his family however, and they all usually have sort of roundness and childlike quality that makes people mistake them for someone younger. He likes to wear semi-casual clothes, usually jeans and a button down shirt.
Alex is a calm, headstrong kind of person. He's generally nice, and willing to help anybody, but he knows how to get what he wants and is a dedicated person. Once he starts on something, it's guaranteed to come out better than imagined. He want's to go somewhere in his life, and he wont take no as an answer.History:
However. this also makes him a bit of a perfectionist, and if something comes out less than satisfactory, he'll get rid of it completely and start again. He has antisocial tendencies, along with ADD, and this makes it hard for him to make acquaintances or friends.
When alone, he likes to read or work on little projects of little importance. He takes up story writing in his spare time, but doesn't plan on anything happening with that hobby. He hates whenever someone goes snooping around in his journals, as he sees it as an invasion of his privacy.
As a general rule, Alex never assumes anything about anybody. He believes that when approaching a stranger, don't assume they intend harm, but don't assume they are your friend. He waits to see what their actions say about them and then decides on how he'll interact with them.
Alex was born in Edinburgh, Scotland to his parents Eva(Diaz) and Boyd. His mother is Puerto Rican and his father part Scotish. He gets his half blood status from his mother, who's parents were muggles. She was the first witch in the family for a while, so it came as a bit of a shock. His dad comes from a pure blood family, and he works as a Curse-Breaker for Gringotts.Acceptance Letter: LUMOS ate it
His family tends to be reserved and they don't really talk about feelings or emotions, but it is clear they all love each other, if not in a slightly dysfunctional way.
When Alex was little he had trouble coping with things and expressing his feelings, and tended to act out in dangerous ways. He wasn't trying to get attention-far from it. He went to extremes to get away from crowds and people to have his fits. Then one day he found out about cutting, and it just felt so right. Since then he's stopped, but he tends to go into relapses often.
He would often go visit his grandparents, where his maternal grandfather(a muggle) would continuously bash his parents. His grandfathers arguments and comments weren't really rational, but after a while Alex gave up trying to reason with the man and kept quite. His grandmother died before Alex was born, and Alex believes this may be why his grandfather is so angry all the time.
His paternal grandparents are both alive and well, and very proud of their son and daughter in law.
He has a small family, containing of his younger eight year old sister, and a cousin that came to live with them due to family issues. He is very close to his cousin, and he is the only one who knows about Alex's problems. Alex seems to have taken the role of a very protective brother to him. He can't wait to start school, although he was very nervous when he received the letter. His family comes from a long line of Slytherins, but his mom was a Hufflepuff, and proud of it, so he doesn't know what to expect of the school, or the students.
