Description:
Although he now still looks like a typical first-year, Todd is on his way to growing into a slightly better defined young man. He is tall for his age, thin, and generally has a dark expression on his face. When he walks, he usually walks quickly and stands tall; unlike many of his height he is growing quickly into his body and does not look as gawky and awkward as he could. Over-all, Todd really does not have too many defining features or even really anything that sets him apart from others. He prefers it that way, though, as it generally keeps him unnoticed. Unnoticed through his looks, clothing, and personality is generally what defines Todd. The more he can get away with without getting caught, the better.Personality:
Todd is growing into a height that eventually will reach 6’2” and a 195 lb weight. While he is growing quickly, he still has about 60 pounds to go as well as almost 1/3 a foot. Like most boys, he usually has to eat quite a bit and can usually be found with some sort of food on hand. Normally a neutral expression, Todd is rather difficult to read. However, once you get to know him the subtleties almost make him an open book. The lip-twitch when he is amused, the jaw clench and swallow when he is angry or upset, and so many more things. His eyes, like the rest of him, are a neutral grey/green/blue and his hair is light in color, cropped short. Picture Vidas but less feminine.
Todd’s clothing style reflects his general lack of caring about appearance. While he remains neat and clean, Todd isn’t one of those who spends an hour preening in the shower ever morning. His hair is cropped short and he generally wears jeans or cargos, a t-shirt v-neck or dark-button up, and some old boots. His clothing is generally dark, but not dark enough to make him stand out as the stereotype of “goth” or emo”. Which is good, since he finds stereotypes one of the stupidest things on earth
Sorted into Ravenclaw after a bit of a speech with the hat, Todd could have fit decently into any of the houses with his neutral personality. However, the two biggest were Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Wanting to grow up and go into the military to become a military leader, Todd assumed he would have gone Gryffindor, but the hat thought otherwise. Todd is courageous enough, but it is not his most defining quality. He also lacked the pride that seems so typical of the house. For Huffelpuff, Todd did have kindness and understanding but despite this, he was blunt and his idea of kindness wasn’t always what others was, as he thought about long-term and isn’t afraid of “fixing” a problem as bluntly as he has to. For the good of everyone, of course.History:
Slytherin ultimately didn’t fit Todd’s personality because although he can be rude, nasty, blunt, and a general trouble-maker fully capable of completing an evil deed, his reasons for doing so were always different than the typical reason. Like chess, he was always thinking ahead, manipulating situations in the moment to have the desired outcome in the future. Therefore, his evil deeds are always justifiable, and usually in order to achieve something that ultimately is for the better good.
This said, the hate decided that Ravenclaw was the best for Todd. With his cunning, manipulative ways and subtle characteristics of all of the other houses, his smarts and intelligence is ultimately what brings it all together and makes him who he is.
Although Todd’s actions are generally justifiable, he is usually a bit unnaproachable and dislikable by those who do choose to approach him. It makes it a little hard for him, especially as a young boy, to have very much confidence and he lacks a little of the required social needs for young children growing up, as he generally see’s himself set aside from the others in his military mindset.
However mean he may be, Todd can also be a bit of the older brother you never had. One moment he will turn you into the teacher for cheating, the next he will destroy the face of an upperclassman bully picking on you. Typically a reluctant good guy, Todd is moody and unpredictable at his best. However, he is a good one to have on your side generally, even with his highly military mindset, and controlling nature.
Todd, as a young man, grew up moving all over the country and even the world. As a military child, Todd got to see a lot of new things and learned a lot through the travels. Mother dying when he was young, Todd was an only child who often lived with the live-in nanny while his father was deployed or at work. An intelligent but caring woman, she became somewhat of Todd’s mentor and taught him a lot of what he knew, influencing his personality more than anyone else did. It was through her that Todd learned to be caring but blunt, always working toward the ultimate betterment. While completing homework was a pain, a good career was more important. While his father going to war scared him, the safety of the people was more important.Acceptance Letter: DONNA ate it.
As a toddler, Todd typically ran around wearing his father’s old boots and helmets. Kindergarten came and went, and even then teachers remarked on his obsession with the military, even more so than the typical young boy. Second grade, no-one had any doubt that Todd was going to go into the military when he was older. However, second grade was also when Todd’s father came home from his tour and stayed longer than he ever had yet, leaving him more time with his son.
During this time, Todd learned more than he ever dreamed of. His father, apparently a wizard, had married Todd’s mother who had been a witch. They had both gone to school to learn to control their magic and that was where they had met. However, afterwards, once the war started and Todd’s mother died, Todd’s father decided to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps and generally forgetting about his wizard life, instead lived the life of a muggle. The only reason Todd was finding out about this was because he too would soon be getting his letter, assuming he wasn’t a squib.
Pleading not to go as he didn’t want to be a wizard and instead wanted to be a soldier, Todd felt as if his world had been shattered. Everything he believed in was only part of what was real. Under the notion for “the better good”, Todd now is coming to Hogwarts and wants to get what he can out of it so that as soon as he graduates, he can go back into the muggle world and become a soldier. Everything magic is typically new to him, although of pureblood, and many assume that he is muggle-born.
