Description:
Asmyl doesn't look much different than any other asian girl; she's small (about five feet four inches) and slim, weighing no more than 100 pounds. She's got little hands and little feet, and smallish features on her face; except for her eyes. Her eyes are huge, dark green, and slightly almond shaped. Her hair is long, reaching to about the middle of her back, jet black and wavy. Her skin is fair and blemish free, although she has got a smattering of light freckles across her cheeks.Personality:
Asmyl was born with webbed feet, although she is one hundred percent human. It doesn't make her a better swimmer, it's basically just a weird quirk about her. She's also missing the pinky off of her left hand; a product of accidentally jinxing herself as a younger kid, when she was unable to control her magic. She doesn't have pierced ears, though she wishes she did, though she does have a scar on her left ear from when she attempted to pierce it herself.
Asmyl has a somewhat odd sense of style. She usually wears her hair either down, or sometimes in a loose ponytail at the nape of her neck. She likes dresses above all else, and will even wear them into the winter (with tights, of course) She adores colored and striped socks and tights, and likes hats as well. She doesn't like the tie on her school uniform, and usually wears it undone, hanging around her neck. She likes to wear the slacks and the skirt of her uniform equall, but sometimes mistakenly tucks her cloak into the back of her pants on accident.
Asmyl likes to pretend to be mature, but deep down she's just a silly little kid. She loves to play pretend, and likes to goof off. She'll always be a kid at heart, but she does try to pretend not to be such a goof off when adults are around; probably a product of her childhood. She was always silly, but her no nonsense father expected her to be prim and proper when he was around, if he was ever round. She's also got a problem with her self esteem; constantly being treated like a disappointment takes its toll on a small child.History:
Asml was basically expected to raise herself, because her father was always so busy with work. So she is and has almost always been self-sufficient. That also means she ended up playing alone most of her time. Due to her random and seemingly strange 'outbursts' as a child, she didn't have alot of muggle friends, and her father forbade her from becoming part of the wizarding world. So she has a hard time making friends now, even though she is perfectly nice.
Asmyl is pretty smart, even downright intelligent some would say. But she has such a hard time focusing and applying her smarts, that she does poorly in school, and is deemed 'unruly' or 'distracting'. Though the real problem is her daydreaming; she has an active imagination, and is always dreaming when she should be studying or doing homework. It seems as though, while her father's treatment has left her with a damaged self esteem and sense of self worth, it hasn't made her any more of the perfect daughter he expects. But it has given her a healthy reverence for magic; just like her father, she values 'muggle' work and determination far more than simply flicking her wand.
Born to Alfred and Kelly Anders, Asmyl is an only child. Asmyl's mother left them when Asmyl was only two years old, and with her, took all magical influence in Asmyl's life. Kelly was a half-blood witch, and Alfred is a muggle, which makes their daughter a half blood as well, but she didn't even know until she recieved her letter from Hogwarts. And even then, Alfred attempted to convince her that it was a hoax, or that it was simply a mistake. But deep down, Asml knew she had to be a witch; it was the only explanation for the numerous times she accidentally exploded her father's various household appliances.Acceptance Letter: LUMOS ate it
Alfred did love Kelly, but she couldn't bare to be kept way from the wizarding world by being married to a muggle, and when she ran away, Alfred decided it was the Wizarding world's fault, and decided to shun the entire thing. He probably did know that Asmyl was a witch, but he didn't tell her, and only grudgingly allowed her to attend Hogwarts. He has met with the Headmaster only once, and even then only spoke about three words to him. And even though his daughter is a witch, he still continues to put them and their 'lazy, magical habits' down in front of her. One can only guess the effects that's having on poor Asmyl.
Asmyl spent her days mostly alone; she was considered weird for her odd 'outburts' by her peers, and her father is the CEO of a corperate muggle company, so he didn't have alot of time to devote to her. And it didn't help that he was always uneasy around her due to her resemblance to her mother. Asmyl does look quite a lot like Kelly, taking most of her mother's asian features and none of her father's englsh features. He expected high expectations from his daughter, to which she couldn't possibly live up to, so she constantl was treated as a dissapointment. Alfred did love her, but he was a terrible father.
When Asmyl recieved her letter, she tried to get her father to take her to Diagon Alley, but ended up just going with a witch from the ministry who helped her find her supplies; Alfred refused to go with them. Asmyl is always vying for her father's approval, but never, ever recieves it. Dispite being a witch, Asmyl still aspires to take on a muggle job. She hopes that, once she graduates from Hogwarts, she can become a doctor or a lawyer. She doesn't want to become a mother, because she's afraid she'd make just as bad a parent as her parents did.
